    Notes on presence status Manduca rustica harteri Rotschild, 1894 has often been reported as the species Manduca rustica (Fabricius, 1775). The species has been divided into five subspecies, according to the distribution it is the subspecies M. r. harteri, which occurs in the West Indies.
