Notes on presence status | Introduced to St. Martin in 1888 to control rat populations. However, once introduced it readily adapt to other food sources such as birds, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and even fallen fruit. Husson (1960) reported this species under the name Herpestes auropunctatus. |
