Every now and then birds not previously recorded in the Dutch Caribbean are observed and photographed there. These are vagrants, migrants or visitors, new or previously overlooked. This time nature photographer enthusiast with a strong affection for bird, Michiel Oversteegen photographed two new species for Aruba: the Aplomado Falcon (Falco femoralis) and the Yellow-green Vireo (Vireo flavoviridis). The Aplomado Falcon was also observed in December 2017 for the first time on Curaçao. Both are now added to the Dutch Caribbean Species Register accompanied by the magnificent photos of the photographer.
