    Distribution description Native to Africa. Introduced to St. Kitts, Nevis and Barbados in the late 1600s.
    Notes on presence status Populations of the Vervet Monkey on St. Martin are presumed to be descendants of escaped or released monkeys. First sighting on St. Martin dates from 1974. Reported in 2011 on St. Eustatius, but is no longer present.
