New Palm species discovered in Dutch Caribbean

The Dutch Caribbean Species Register contains many species records the former Netherlands Antilles. These include new species from the sea and from the land. A spectacular new discovery was added: a large palm from Bonaire and Curaçao, Sabal antillensis, not easily overlooked but nobody knew what it was and recently described in the journal Phytotaxa.
